During the global coronavirus pandemic, Finnish communities worldwide have developed new forms of activities. Digital solutions are now used more efficiently in activities and services than ever before. The 10th session of the Finnish Expatriate Parliament (FEP) in June this year will also be held digitally for the first time. With the remote meeting, it is possible to participate from anywhere in the world from the comfort of your home.
The Finland Society is preparing a virtual Suomi Village, which will be open from June 7th to 13th, 2021 to all Finns worldwide and anybody interested in Finnish expatriatism. With the virtual platform our aim is to bring together Finnish expatriates from all over the word, to facilitate encounters, to create shared emotional memories, to bring up topics that are important for Finns worldwide, and to present Finnish culture and skills around the world.
We warmly invite our member organizations to join in the communal work and to contribute to the program in the Suomi Village. We provide a virtual space for you to present your community’s activities, get visibility for your projects or to gather Finns around the world to discuss a topic of your choice. Whatever you have in mind, contact our organization coordinator Maarit Hyvärinen ([email protected]) and tell us about your idea for the program!
Let’s build together the first ever global digital Parliament session and virtual Suomi Village!
